Arkansas does not accept America the Beautiful Golden Eagle/Age/Access.

Colorado, Delaware, Louisiana & Maryland accept America the Beautiful Golden Eagle/Age/Access if your home state also accepts them.

Texas, West Virginia may accept America the Beautiful Golden Eagle/Age/Access.

Florida accepts America the Beautiful Golden Access only.

Missouri offers a discount to seniors 65+.

I use this section to keep track of interesting places I want to see and maintain camping areas, trailhead, boat launch, notes & other information when I visit them.  Much camping information comes from Don Wright's Guide to Free Campgrounds.  Most boat launches and trail heads come from the corresponding Delorme's State Atlas or Delorme's TopoUSA CD.

The home page has links for free camping and low cost camping areas.

Note that many of the back roads I drive are impassible when wet.  I drive a 1996 Dodge Dakota, 4 cylinder, 2WD with a fairly short wheel base for a truck and a reasonable amount of clearance.  I also use All-Terrain tires.  I don't drive wet roads but I do push the limits of my truck when on some of the rougher roads.  Many of these roads cannot be driven in a car.

The following states supposedly & offically allow 1 night overnight campiing in a self contained vehicle (no tents).

Arizona
Arkansas
Connecticut
Illinois -– only on Illinois Toll Road
Indiana - only on Indiana Toll Road
Kansas
Nevada
New Mexico
New York - emergencies only
Ohio - only on Ohio Turnpike
Oklahoma
Oregon - 14-hour limit
Texas
Virginia
